As a Vermont artist, I am fortunate to be able to constantly surrounded by the beautiful landscapes of trees, mountains and lakes. However, having the love of modern clean lines, I am able to express my attraction for nature with the sharp edges of modern society.
My paintings are known for their strong colors and vibrancy. When painting any landscape, I try to introduce these strong colors so that a person can look at my paintings and say... "That must have been a lot of fun to paint". In the end, I want the viewer to constantly look at my paintings and see the playfulness inherit within the painting.
So, last night I was playing around with drawing more eyes and came up with this boy. It started out as a simple snake with an eye for a head. Then, I figured that that was pretty boring, so, started adding more eyes.
Next thing you know, I ended up with a mouth, a fuller body and a bunch of eye stalks.
Now, it looks kind of like a mad carrot with a snake body and a bunch of different eye stalks. After that, I realized that it was time for me to go to bed.
